Having tried grease pencils on the deck, SCUBA diver's underwater writing pads, and several "waterproof" field note pads, we finally found a way to record logbook entries without making a mess or loosing what you've written. It's a pocket sized note pad that really does work when wet, and it works with a regular lead pencil so there's nothing more to buy and no special pen or grease pencil to corrode. We include a pencil that stores in the binder. The hole thing fits in the pocket of your PFD, so you always have your bearings, tide and current calculations, waypoints, bird list, etc. handy.
